Treatment
I offer help to adults from the age of 18 who suffer from a variety of complaints including depressive complaints, anxiety complaints, trauma complaints and personality problems. Depending on the indication, both individual and group work is offered. Please note, not all diagnoses and/or complaints are reimbursed. See the list below for more overview. Person-oriented as well as complaint-oriented work can be done with the time that is needed for this (SGGZ).
The diagnoses for which one can register are the following: (complex) Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Personality disorders (cluster B and C), mood disorders, anxiety disorders.
Other diagnoses are not treated. Think of psychotic disorders, eating problems, aggression problems, addiction problems, etc. I also do not treat complaints that are not reimbursed by the health insurer, such as partner relationship problems or adjustment disorder.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us and we will see what is possible together.
I work with methods that are evidence based and offer cognitive behavioral therapy, schema therapy and EMDR. In addition to the usual face-to-face contacts, online consultations are also possible. Support by e-health modules can also be used on indication.
Cognitive behavioral therapy
Cognitive behavioral therapy is a form of treatment that starts from current functioning, tries to gain insight into which factors from the learning history have caused the problems to arise and which ones maintain the problems and from there intervenes in thinking, feeling and behavior. More information can be found on www.vgct.nl.
Schema therapy
Schema therapy is an form of therapy that aims to tackle profound and long-term patterns by examining where they come from, how they are formed and what makes you continue to use them. Research shows that schema therapy is one of the most effective methods for persistent complaints. More information can be found on www.schematherapie.nl.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing is an evidence based treatment method to process unpleasant and traumatic experiences. Certain events can have a profound impact on people’s lives. A large proportion of those affected process these experiences on their own. In others, psychological complaints develop. Often these are memories of the shocking event that keep coming up, including frightening images (re-experiences, flashbacks) and nightmares. Other complaints that often occur are startle and avoidance reactions. This is usually referred to as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). EMDR is intended for the treatment of people with PTSD and other trauma-related anxiety symptoms. These are complaints that have arisen as a direct result of a concrete unpleasant event in which thinking about it still evokes an emotional reaction. www.emdr.nl
In addition, I provide supervision and learning therapy (behavioral and schema therapy). I usually work in my practice on Mondays.
